Accessibility Statement

Last updated: June 5, 2026

Our commitment

The Thelma Ellis Sixteen Foundation, Inc. is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We want every visitor — donors, students, families, and partners in both the United States and Jamaica — to be able to learn about our work and support our mission.

Standards we aim for

We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These internationally recognized guidelines help make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of abilities. Steps we have taken include:

  • Descriptive text alternatives for meaningful images
  • Clear, labeled forms and buttons
  • Keyboard navigation and a “skip to content” link
  • Sufficient color contrast and resizable text
  • Respect for reduced-motion preferences
  • Semantic headings and landmarks for screen readers

Ongoing effort

Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time project. We regularly review the site and work to improve the experience. Some older content or third-party embeds (such as event calendars or payment pages hosted by our providers) may not yet fully meet every standard, and we are working to address these.
